A Memorable Day at Denham Bowls Club: Hosting the Bucks Plate Semi-Finals

Denham Bowls Club had the pleasure of being the neutral host for the Bucks Plate semi-finals, and what a fantastic day it was! The match saw Hazells Bowls Club from Aylesbury go head-to-head with Winslow Bowls Club in a thrilling competition that showcased some of the finest bowls we’ve seen this season.

The semi-final was played in the format of 4 sets of triples on 4 rinks, with each game spanning 18 ends. From start to finish, the quality of play was exceptional, with both teams giving it their all in pursuit of victory. The day was made even better by the decent-sized crowd that gathered to watch, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

We’re proud to share that both Hazells and Winslow provided fantastic feedback about our green and facilities, and we couldn’t be happier to have hosted them. Our green was in top-notch condition, thanks to the hard work of Alan and Daron in preparing the lawn, and Harps for expertly setting up the rinks.

A special thank you goes out to Jean, Rose, Jenny and Helen for organizing the teas and delicious bacon rolls that kept everyone fueled throughout the morning. Their efforts helped create a warm and welcoming environment for all who attended.

And of course, congratulations to Hazells Bowls Club for progressing through to the final! We wish them the best of luck as they continue their journey in the Bucks Plate. It was truly a great day all around, and we’re thrilled to have been a part of it.
