With the outdoor season now behind us and the grant finally approved (hurrah!), we’re thrilled to announce that the long-overdue Clubhouse Roof Project has officially begun!

Today marked Phase One: The Great Teardown – and what a sight it was. In true Denham spirit, club members rolled up their sleeves and rallied together for a classic old-fashioned rooftop rescue. No cranes, no professional machinery – just heart, humour, and a healthy supply of bacon rolls.
After months of tactical finesse and teamwork on the green, those same skills shifted to the clubhouse. Dismantling, disposing, piling, passing – it was less lawn bowls and more production line precision. Honestly, you’d have been forgiven for thinking we were running a high-end factory operation out of Denham!
By early afternoon, the old roof was down, the job was done, and the kettle was on. The team took a well-earned breather under the soft autumn sun, sharing tea, laughter, bacon rolls, and a few light jabs about who actually did the most work.
Handshakes were exchanged. Season’s greetings were shared. And with that, we passed the baton (and the building) to the professional contractors, who will take it from here over the winter months.

We can’t wait to unveil our new look clubhouse in early 2025 – just in time for a fresh season of bowls, banter, and plenty more bacon rolls.
Stay tuned for updates – and a massive thank you to everyone who pitched in today!
